Hope2Sleep say:-
This new DreamWisp Nasal Mask is yet another welcome addition to Philips Respironics' 'Dream Family' with the very popular hose attachment at the top of the mask instead of hanging below like on most masks. Many people already own the popular CPAP Hose Lift and these 'top of the mask hoses' are a perfect match with the Hose Lift so that just enough length of hose can be hung down to enable people to turn over in the night, which means the hose has a far less chance of getting in the way to disturb sleep or cause mask leaks.
There are 2 exhalation ports which helps cut down on the noise during exhalation, and any sleeping position (including stomach sleeping) should be easier with this DreamWisp mask.
The original Wisp Mask has been popular for several years, due to the minimalistic nasal cushion, and our own reviews, on the day of writing this, are 5 Stars. We certainly hope that this new DreamWisp Mask will prove to be just as (or even more) popular as its predecessor!
Mask Features
For new users of the DreamWisp Mask there is a fitpack version containing small, medium and large cushions to help people select their size. These cushions are expected to fit the majority of people, but on the rarer occasions when a petite or extra large size cushion is needed, these can be purchased separately. The fitpack also contains medium headgear, but this does also come in small or large size, and again can be purchased separately when needed.
The fitpack also contains a medium frame connector which slots in at the top of the frame faceplate. There are two others sizes of the frame connector available separately in a small or large, and this frame connector is to enable people get a better fit. For example, if the frame faceplate seems a little tight or small then the large frame connector would probably give a better fit by making the faceplate larger. Likewise, if the frame faceplate seems a little large, then the small frame connector will help by making the faceplate smaller. (See diagram below)
DreamWisp Faceplate and Frame Connectors in 3 sizes to make the Frame Faceplate larger or smaller
Once people know their correct size of mask cushion, the DreamWisp mask can be bought in that particular size - petite, small, medium, large or extra large, but the beauty about this mask is that all the parts can be purchased individually as and when needed, rather than a whole new mask each time.
All options of the mask come with a small pair of Fabric Wraps for added face comfort if needed from the frame faceplate.
Like the DreamWear Nasal and DreamWear Full Face masks, this new DreamWisp is cleverly designed so that when sleeping on your side with the faceplate frame on the pillow, the air will be redirected through the other side of the frame so there is no loss of pressure.
Philips Respironics say:-
DreamWisp has been designed to help patients sleep comfortably with every turn. Marrying the freedom of DreamWear’s revolutionary top of-the-head tube design with Wisp’s proven over-the-nose auto seal cushion, creates a mask that lets patients sleep how they want without having frontal tubing in the way.
Top of the Head Tube
Patients can sleep in any position they desire—on their stomach, side, or back - without having the hose in front of their face.
Minimal Headgear Design
DreamWisp delivers airflow within the frame, provides an open line of sight and uses smaller footprint than traditional nasal masks.
Easy-to-use Magnetic Clips
Magnetic clips enable quick assembly and release of the headgear which can be especially useful for patients who have dexterity issues.
Minimal Contact Nasal Cushion
Proven Wisp cushion technology provides minimal contact with the face while creating an optimal seal for patients as they sleep.
