These Bacterial Viral Inline Filters are an extra protection against allergies, viruses, mould, dust and other irritants, and are particularly helpful for allergy sufferers, asthmatics and people with recurrent lung/respiratory infections.
The Inline Bacterial Viral Filter is an additional protection to help allergy sufferers, people with recurrent infections or lung diseases and protection from air-borne viruses. They have a bacterial and viral efficiency of 99.999+%. The filter is designed to prevent any germs, irritants, mould or dust that may have got through the machine's filters, from entering the mask to provide the cleanest air possible. These filters are also suitable for hospital use with mechanical ventilators, anaesthesia machines, manual resuscitation devices and IPPB machines.
These disposable filters are compatible with almost all machines, and the recommended length of use under normal circumstances is 30 days, but it is easy to see when they need replacing through the clear filter cover, as dirt will cause the filter to change from white to grey or black, and it is important to change them when this happens! Some people will 'feel' when to replace them if their symptoms reappear (such as allergies, nasal congestion, wheeziness etc). However, when used in hospitals the filters should be changed at least every 24 hours.
The filters supplied are by Philips Respironics or AG Industries, which are the same product, and we will send whichever we have available at the time, as these filters are in high demand.
A single Filter can be purchased, or you can buy a Pack of 5 or 10 which is more cost-effective and also makes it easier to identify with a new one when to change the one in use, by comparing the difference in colour.
The In-line Bacterial Viral Filter cannot be placed between the machine and the hose/tubing connection on machines which come with heated hoses, such as the Resmed's Climate Line Heated Tubing with the S9 and Airsense machines, Fisher & Paykel's Thermostat Heated Hose or the Respironics' 60-series and DreamStation Heated Tubes. In this case, the In-line Bacteria Filter could be placed between the hose and the mask, but bear in mind this will add weight at that connection. However, the Bacteria Filter CAN be used with the Hybernite Heated Hose.
An additional Elbow Swivel Adapter or similar will be needed for use with the Devilbiss Sleep Cube (Intellipap) Machine if using a humidifier too, and this will be needed with any other machine if the connection is not secure.
These filters are not compatible with travel machines such as the DreamStation Go or AirMini etc due to the micro width tubing.

This addition to my cpap machine does extactly what it says . It’s easy to fit and stops any nasties in the air. Easy to order with hope2sleep and arrived on time.
Have fitted this to my Philips CPAP, having read the worrying articles on issues with Philips' machines. Yes I think it does ever so slightly reduce the flow but not enough to effect the machine's purpose or disturb my sleep.Very good price and quick delivery compared to some of the charlatans on Amazon overcharging.
Good filters. I use these on my cpap machine and it is amazing how much dirt, dust and whatever else they stop getting through. You can see clearly the colour change from white to grey to black. Do the job perfectly.

I find that this really helps with night time breathing and judging by the amount of dust they collect I'm impressed that it is keeping me safe and stopping getting dust in my airways and lungs. Well worth the money!
Response:
We know exactly what you mean when you say the dirt you can see on the bacteria filter. It's quite a shock!
Fits my Phillips BIPAP ventilator A40, and very pleased to have the inhaled air filtered again. Stops airborne pollutants and makes the air pressure a little smoother.
I bought these as I have a Phillips Dreamstation affected by their recent recall. I have placed it between the machine and hose and have not noticed any change in my therapy results. It does feel at bit different at initial ramp pressure 4.0 but once over 7.0 not noticeable. I haven’t seen any worriesome particles in the filter.
That makes sense Helen as they can affect the airflow below 7cm pressure so you may want to speak with your clinic to have the ramp pressure raised. A lot of people when they're used to CPAP do prefer to switch off the ramp too.
I bought these to try as I began having sinus problems / hay fever which is completely new to me. Hoped these would help. As a product I think they are great but I felt for me they added too much weight to the mask and I ended up with a really sore area on nasal bridge I don’t think they caused it but didn’t help it. So now caught between a rock and a hard place ! Using this helped my sinus problems which was what I had hoped but didn’t help the sore nose. However I think it’s still a good product and when nose heals I will try again.
Thanks for the review Margaret and hope you are able to use them to help with your sinus issues. I will contact you to see if I can help. Kath
Product as described and pretty fast delivery, only issue is the bulk buy, it will last me a little while
With a notice from Phillips saying that the foam in the CPAP machine may breakdown and be inhaled, I have added these to protect against this issue.

Shipping
We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible. Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day. An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list. Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.
All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK. Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.
Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment. On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called 'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!
Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.
If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.
Important for International Orders
We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate. Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.
International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.
Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:- "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."
Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed. A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
