Philips Respironics

This Amara View minimalistic full face enables mask users to wear reading glasses, and there are NO nasal pillows requiring insertion into the nostrils, as there is an opening for the base of the nose to sit into, with this under-the-nose design. Nasal bridge sores really will be a thing of the past with this mask!

This  Amara View Mask really is proving to have high success rates amongst patients, which is indeed a good sign as getting the 'right' mask is a very individual selection process, and it is much harder to get a minimal contact mask for mouth breathers.

Important Update:-

Philips Respironics have now upgraded the mask to include magnetic clips, which whilst a good feature, people with a pacemaker or cochlear implants will need to confirm if the magnetic clips are suitable. If not, then the non-magnetic clips will need to be purchased separately to replace the magnet ones that come with the mask - See this link.

Hope2Sleep's Observations:-

  • Completely won over by the way the base of the nose goes into the nostril hole on the mask, and the edges of the hole create the good seal by clinging to the nose.
  • Amara 'View' is certainly a good name for this mask due to being able to wear reading glasses and for the way it offers a wide field of vision!
  • Very lightweight mask overall, compared to many other full face masks.
  • Very soft silicone cushion.
  • Marvellous to have no nasal bridge discomfort or sores, and no part of the mask causing pressure underneath the eyes.
  • Now available with magnetic clips.
  • The quick release small tube means people can detach the mask from this for bathroom visits, without having to take off the full mask.
  • Easy to clean and re-assemble.
  • All mask cushions (small, medium and large) fit the same frame, and it would be rare to have to purchase a whole new mask, as most parts can be bought separately, as and when required.

Philips Respironics says:-

Enjoy the view - the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks! An idea whose time has come.......

The Amara View’s incredible under-the-nose design makes it the only full face mask that won’t cause red marks on the bridge of your nose when compared to the market leaders. Amara View is also the smallest, lightest and has the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks. It’s easy to wear glasses, read, watch TV, and use a computer or tablet.

  • Innovative design prevents red marks, discomfort or irritation on the nose bridge.
  • The smallest and lightest of all leading full face masks.
  • Widest field of vision of all leading full face masks.
  • Enables wearing glasses, reading, and watching TV.
  • Easy to use with one modular frame for all cushion sizes.
  • No bulky cushion and frame in front of your face and eyes.
  • Magnetic clips make attaching or re-attaching headgear before bed or in the middle of the night easy and fast.

Unlike most full face masks, Amara View’s cushion size is determined by measuring the depth of the nose using the simple sizing gauge. Amara View covers less of a patient’s face than all leading full face masks. (An observation noted is that when people appear to be on the borderline of 2 sizes, selecting the smaller size seems to work better).

The Amara View comes in sizes Small, Medium or Large, and there is now also the addition of the Fitpack option which contains all 3 cushion sizes (this is highly recommended if purchasing the mask for the first time in order that the correct cushion size can be selected).  The standard headgear and small mask mini tubing is included in all packs, and additional extras can be bought of the following:-

  • Headgear (in standard or large)
  • Mask Cushions (all sizes can be used with the frame)
  • Headgear Magnetic Clips
  • Short Tube

Important Information

The headgear clips and mask cushion contain magnets

PLEASE NOTE that if you are affected by the following contraindications with magnets, you will need to purchase the non-magnetic clips separately on this link.

As of August 2022, Philips Respironics is updating its existing contraindications and warnings to the following:

Contraindication:  Use of the mask is contraindicated for patients and their household members, caregivers, and bed partners that may be in close vicinity to patients using the masks, that have implanted devices that may be affected by magnets, including but not limited to:

  • Neurostimulators
  • Magnetic metallic implants/electrodes/valves placed in upper limbs, torso, or higher (i.e. neck and head)
  • CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) shunts (e.g., VP (ventriculo peritoneal) shunt)
  • Aneurysm clips
  • Embolic coils
  • Intracranial aneurysm intravascular flow disruption devices
  • Metallic cranial plates, screws, burr hole covers, and bone substitute devices
  • Metallic splinters in the eye
  • Ocular implants (e.g., glaucoma implants, retinal implants)

With the exception of the devices identified in the contraindication, ensure the mask is kept at least 6 inches (approx. 15.24 cm) away from any other medical implants or medical devices that can be impacted by the magnetic fields to avoid possible effects from localized magnetic fields.  This includes household members, caregivers, and bed partners that may be in close vicinity to patients that use the masks.

Comfortable mask

NHS no linger provide this mask which is easier to use because the nose hole is large enough to make breathing easier without restricting over the nostrils. Also the lighter more flexible tube connection makes sleep movement less disturbing.

Finally, a comfortable full face mask!
25 April 2024  |

I’ve recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea and have been struggling to find a full face mask that works for me. Those I’d tried were uncomfortable and kept leaking, making loud raspberry noises and keeping me awake at night.

I was fortunate to be able to visit Hope2Sleep shop in Hull and get help with firstly testing the masks I’d been supplied with previous and also try out some new masks. The Amara View, with a mask liner, was by far the most comfortable. I’ve now been wearing it at home, every night for a week and am finding it works really well. It sort of ‘floats’ on my face and even if I get slight leaks I can just move the mask slightly and that sorts it out. I’ve been able to increase the number of hours a little bit more each night and last night I used it for 6 1/2 hours, my best night by far.

Having tried different masks I’ve come to realise how important it is to get help with finding the right fit for you and I’m indebted to Hope2Sleep for their help.

I was a little aprehensive about treatment, and that was mostley related to the mask. I have just started using, and I really find this mask and fitment excellent. The material is really soft and the fit excellent. So my biggest concern is over, this is a great mask.

Too much generated email
02 May 2023  |

Product and delivery fine, but the order generated far too many long and tortuous emails.

Response:

Glad you were pleased with the mask and delivery, but we've never been criticised for too many emails before. Customers only receive emails of confirmation of their order, notification of despatch with a tracking no + 1 more later for an invite to review the product to help others. We never email customers otherwise, unless there is a problem with their order (which there wasn't with yours. However, if you chose to pay via Paypal then they will no doubt send emails confirming payment, and we have no control over those. Despite this, thanks for leaving your review of the product.

Best so far
05 April 2022  |

I had a Amara View. I tried the Dreamwear which was comfortable but noisy. Tried the Joyce, quite good but long mouth tube was easy to break sealing by hand pillow etc. Just bought a replacement Amara View. It's been upgraded, feels good but time will tell.

Response:

It's so hard for some patients finding the 'right' mask and glad the Amara View is helping until you do. Look out for the new Fisher & Paykel Evora Full Face which we're looking forward to trying ourselves when it arrives in the UK 🤞

ORDERS

Shipping

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.

RETURNS

Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
